Obstetrics Award
Orange City Area Health System has been recognized by the Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospitals in two categories: Obstetrics and Patient Experience.
The Obstetrics award signifies that Orange City Area Health System (OCAHS) is in the top 13% of 4,675 U.S. hospitals offering obstetrics and birth care services. In fact, OCAHS ranked within the top 1% among these hospitals this year. The Women’s Choice Award educates all women on where to receive the best care and focuses its research on hospitals that provide the highest quality patient experience, especially important for potential labor complications.
“Having a baby is one of the most precious times in a woman’s life,” said Delia Passi founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award. “New moms have many choices to make when it comes to having their baby, and choosing where to deliver the baby is right up there with choosing the best doctor. We’ve made it easy for her to identify the best hospitals that are proven to deliver an outstanding birthing experience.”
Patient Experience Award
The Patient Experience award signifies that OCAHS has been ranked within the top 100 hospitals of similar size based on number of beds. In fact, OCAHS achieved a national rank of Number 4 of 957 hospitals in their category this year. This is the eleventh year in a row that Orange City Area Health System earned the Patient Experience award.
“Patients today are more involved in their care and demand a greater experience throughout their entire journey of care putting more pressure on healthcare providers to find ways to become more patient centered to meet these demands,” according to Women’s Choice. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, good patient experience positively correlates to disease management, adherence to treatment plans, and health outcomes.
“Both of these awards are a testament to the skill and compassion of our staff,” remarked Marty Guthmiller, CEO of Orange City Area Health System. “When combined with the healing environment and latest technology, outstanding care is the result – as confirmed by these recognitions.”
