U.S. News and World Report ranks Northwestern 7th among 79 Midwestern colleges, NWC is Iowa’s only Christian College of Distinction, and the college is consistently included on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

Northwestern College

Northwestern College is a Christian liberal arts college located in Orange City. Recognized for its strong academic program, vibrant campus community and unwavering Christian commitment, Northwestern has been preparing young people to serve Christ in the world since 1882. More than 80 academic programs lead to a bachelor’s degree, and Northwestern also offers an online Master of Education program with seven options. Master’s degree programs in physician assistant studies and athletic training are planned to begin in 2020.

More than 1,300 students attend Northwestern, coming from 37 states and 19 countries. 99% of recent Northwestern alumni got jobs or started grad school within six months of graduation. Northwestern’s rigorous education has led our graduates to outstanding achievements, including CPA exam pass rates ranked second nationally, MCAT scores in the top 25% worldwide, and actuarial exam pass rates above 80% (compared to 50% nationally).

More than $70 million has been spent on construction and renovation projects in the last 15 years. The latest addition is the $24.5 million DeWitt Family Science Center, which opened in 2018.
