Ellie and her family moved to Orange City three years ago. Below she shares her experience moving to our small community in northwest Iowa:
How would you describe your lifestyle in Orange City?
We have three boys and stay very active with their activities, church involvement and spending time with friends in the community.
What has surprised you the most about living in Orange City?
I was pleasantly surprised by the kindness of the people in the community and the opportunities for involvement for our boys and for me. The town is also beautifully kept. There is a lot of care that goes into keeping the town looking nice.
What do you most enjoy about the community?
There are multiple activities for our boys, both through school and the community. We enjoy having so many options for music and sports programs. We also enjoy the friends we have met here. They are more than friends, they feel like family.
What makes Orange City unique from other places you’ve lived?
The churches in Orange City stand out. When we first moved to Orange City we visited multiple churches in town. All of them were full and fantastic.
What should others outside of Orange City or those considering a move to Orange City know?
There are multiple educational opportunities with two great school systems, Northwestern College provides activity for our entire family, and the churches are phenomenal.
