ORANGE CITY – Onstage Orange City’s final show of 2013 is Wednesday, Aug. 21, featuring The SchoolHouse Company’s production of All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.
The musical theatre production will be in Orange City’s Windmill Park at 7:00pm.
The final Onstage Orange City show of 2013 is a musical theatre production by The SchoolHouse Company: All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten. The show, based on Robert Fulghum’s book, will feature (clockwise from top) Trevor McMahan, Lois Estell, Angela Riedeman, Hannah Barker and Jeff Tolsma.
Based on the book by Robert Fulghum, the show takes a funny and insightful look at what is profound in everyday life. Characters include a shy little boy who insists on playing the “pig” in his class production of Cinderella; a man whose dream of flying carries him high over Los Angeles in a lawn chair; and a “mother of the bride” who stages a perfect wedding, until…
“Heartwarming, funny, charming and touching,” said National Public Radio about the production. “The stories are about all of us.”
And The Chicago Sun-Times called the show “a refreshingly intimate combination of theatre and storytelling. Gentle … funny … joyous. Sparks of recognition ignited the audience.”
The local cast is Hannah Barker, Lois Estell, Trevor McMahan, Angela Riedeman and Jeff Tolsma. Director is Leanne Bonnecroy. Pianist and assistant are Nancy and Dan Landegent.

The show was conceived and adapted by Ernest Zulia, with music and lyrics by David Caldwell. The SchoolHouse Company is a local theatre company that has brought theatre to the area for five years, including the shows It’s a Wonderful Life and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
