Northwestern theatre ensemble to perform March 22-23

Northwestern College’s Drama Ministries Ensemble will give two home performances of their touring show the weekend of March 22 and 23.
Northwestern College’s RUSH dance concert will stage three final performances in March. The RUSH finale is scheduled for Friday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 29, at 2 and 7:30 p.m. in the England Proscenium Theatre.
Northwestern College’s Symphonic Band will soon embark on its concert tour and mission trip to Italy March 1 to 11. Following the tour, the Symphonic Band will perform a home concert in Christ Chapel on Friday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m.
The Carver Charitable Trust is awarding Northwestern College $130,000 to purchase high-tech equipment that will enhance the training of future nurses.
Northwestern College will send 12 teams of students on service trips to six states, Spain, England and Mexico during spring break. More than 160 participants will travel for this year’s Spring Service Partnerships, scheduled for March 1–10.
For the second consecutive year, Northwestern College senior Jack MacGregor, a theatre major from Denison, Iowa, achieved a first-place finish at the Region Five Kennedy Center College American Theater Festival, held this year in Des Moines Jan. 19–25.
Northwestern College’s theatre department will present “The Little Prince” Feb. 21, 22, 26 and 27 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center’s England Proscenium Theatre. The show will begin at 7:30 each of those evenings; there will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Eight members of the Northwestern College Symphonic Band have been chosen to participate in the 2024–25 Iowa Collegiate Honor Band. The honor band, composed of the best college woodwind, brass and percussion students from throughout the state, will gather at Pella, Iowa, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
Mark Potter, former head men’s basketball coach at Newman University, will speak at Northwestern College Feb. 10–12 about mental health issues.
Northwestern College will hold its annual Day of Giving on Thursday, Feb. 6. Titled AllNDay, the event is designed to encourage alumni and friends of the college to be “all in” with their support for Northwestern.
