A local couple won tickets to the October 7 Tracy Silverman concert. Winners were Pam and Loren Visser of D & L Plumbing and Heating. Their names were was drawn among donors to the Orange City Arts Council.
The concert, to be held Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Northwestern College Chapel, features electric violinist Tracy Silverman. His show is eclectic, featuring everything from jazz, rock, and contemporary to classical and Brazilian pieces. He will play a Led Zeppelin medley with “Stairway to Heaven,” his own version of Bach, and a Gershwin piece, “Bess, you is my woman now.” He will also play Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, John Adams, Latin rock, Brazilian-style choro and several of his own compositions.
The show will also include one number performed with 28 students from MOC-Floyd Valley, Unity Christian and Western Christian high schools.
Tickets are available from Dove Christian Bookstore, Orange City Arts Council and town hall, and the Northwestern Music Department. Advance tickets are $9 for adults, $4 for students. At the door, tickets are $12 and $7.
Concert sponsors are the Orange City Arts Council and Northwestern College Music Department.
