Due to the generosity of our residents in donating to the GrowOC Utility Checkoff Program, five new projects recently received funding!
- The Pride of the Dutchmen Marching Band Boosters received $20,000. After 35+ years, the Middle School band will purchase new uniforms. These uniforms will follow the traditional Dutch style that the band can continue to use at both the Orange City and Pella Tulip Festivals.
- Orange City Arts received $25,000 for the 2025 OnStage productions. Orange City Arts supports local and regional talent by showcasing artists during their summer OnStage events. This free concert series is held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Windmill Park. In addition, each month will host featured artists’ shows inside Stadscentrum, pre-event family activities, and arts and crafts from 5 to 7 pm. A variety of food trucks will also be present throughout the summer.
- OC RAGBRAI received $20,000. Orange City will host RABGRAI in July 2025. We will be host to approximately 25,000 riders as we kick-off the event. Many local organizations and businesses will benefit from the influx of people and the opportunity to sell goods to our guests. There are hundreds of volunteers planning all of the logistics.
- Tulip Festival received $25,000 for a wide variety of upcoming projects. A few of these include
- Float maintenance, repair, and creation
- Improving our speaker system and offering an FM transmission option for our accessible parking area
- A costume and history research trip to the Netherlands
- Updating our website.
- The Crittenton Center received $25,000 to enhance Child Development through Outdoor Learning Spaces. These spaces will serve as extensions of the indoor learning environment, providing additional play-based and child-focused learning opportunities. Specifically, this will fund permanent shade structure and items such as water tables, sand and mud tables, a large sandbox, and outdoor play kitchens
