Northwestern College invites high school students to visit campus during the 2020–21 school year. Northwestern offers individual visits, Raider Days (group visit days) and virtual visits as an introduction to the college for prospective students.
Raider Days enable prospective students to experience what it’s like to be a Northwestern student. Prospective students can meet professors and coaches or activity directors, talk to an admissions and financial aid counselor, and hear from current students about their Northwestern experiences.
Students are also welcome set up an individual, personalized visit to Northwestern, where they can meet faculty, coaches or activity directors and take a tour.
As a way to help safeguard the health of those on campus and visiting, individual visits will begin precisely at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m., with two families allowed to arrive each hour. An option of noon arrival is available on Fridays. Students can register online at nwciowa.edu/visit for any type of campus visit. Other safety measures include adhering to social distancing guidelines and encouraging the use of face masks while on campus. Disposable face masks will be provided for all who need them. There are also hand-washing and sanitizing stations around campus.
A new opportunity offered this school year consists of virtual visits, a chance for students to picture themselves at Northwestern without having to physically be on campus. By checking out the videos and 360-degree photos online, students are able to get a glimpse into Northwestern’s standout academics and community. Students can also sign up for Zoom meetings with professors and coaches to get to know faculty and programs on campus. “The best way for prospective students to experience what life at Northwestern is like is to visit campus,” says Jackie Davis, dean of admissions. “Whether visiting in person or virtually, students not only gain information on Northwestern and the standout programs we offer, but also experience the campus community. We hope, with the precautions we’re taking, they feel a sense of safety and belonging and are able to picture themselves as students at Northwestern.”
