Orange City Arts has had an incredible summer of music, theatre, and community connection in Windmill Park (and beyond!). While weather has been a challenge this year, the community’s enthusiasm hasn’t wavered—with approximately 1,900 people attending OnStage events from June 4 to July 23.
Here’s a look at the fantastic events we’ve hosted so far:
- June 4 – Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50s
We kicked off the season with high-energy rock ‘n’ roll classics that had the crowd dancing and singing along. With our best turnout of the summer so far, a big crowd gathered to enjoy the music and festive pre-show activities including crafts, food trucks, and family fun. - June 11 – Concert Canceled Due to Weather (Orange City Community Band)
Unfortunately, our second concert of the season was rained out. - June 18 – Hollander Jazz
Smooth, sophisticated, and soulful—this ensemble filled the park with upbeat rhythms and cool summer vibes. - June 25 – Omaha Street Percussion (Moved to Unity High School)
Weather couldn’t stop the beat! The performance was relocated indoors for a high-energy, rhythm-filled evening. A pre-show drumming workshop also engaged local participants. - July 2 – Hollander Jazz (Encore Performance)
Back by popular demand, Hollander Jazz helped us celebrate Independence Day week with another night of incredible music. - July 9 – Orange City Community Band
The community band returned for a second summer performance, delighting audiences with another round of symphonic favorites. - July 16 – Uncle Muskrat
A fresh and folksy evening featuring rich harmonies and roots-inspired sounds, blending Appalachian tradition with modern storytelling. - July 23 – Starling Shakespeare presents The Comedy of Errors
Despite the rain, the show went on at Unity Christian High School! The audience enjoyed Shakespeare’s hilarious tale of mistaken identity, along with pre-show crafts and featured local artists.
Workshops, Exhibits & Youth Engagement
In addition to our concert series, Orange City Arts has offered many ways to get involved and celebrate creativity:
- Hosted three engaging workshops: a Digital Photography Workshop and two Tie Dye Bag Workshops
- Launching the High School Musical Jr. Youth Theatre Workshop (July 28–Aug 1) with 46 students preparing for a full musical production
- Opening the Youth Art Show next week, featuring 33 selected works by local youth artists, on display at Stadscentrum
- Showcased the work of three Featured Artists in downtown Stadscentrum throughout June and July
✨ Looking Ahead
We’re excited for what’s still to come! As we head into August, we look forward to more OnStage performances and wrapping up the season with Arts on Central, our annual downtown celebration of creativity in partnership with the Orange City Chamber of Commerce. Stay tuned for more details on this vibrant, interactive event that brings art, music, food, and fun to the heart of the city.
We’re proud to continue bringing accessible, high-quality arts experiences to our community. Visit www.orangecityarts.org for full details on upcoming events.
