The Orange City Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for Orange City’s newest business, Lindsay’s Flower Patch, located just south of Orange City. Lindsay’s Flower Patch is Northwest Iowa’s only U-pick flower farm.
Lindsay’s Flower Patch offers special flower orders, bouquet subscriptions and holds events and classes, including how-to workshops and story time in the flower patch. You can also find fresh flowers from Lindsay at Central Market, Orange City’s downtown Farmer’s Market, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
When asked why Lindsay chose Orange City for her business, she replied by saying, “Orange City has been my home for the last eight years, and it offers a great business climate.”
Lindsay and her family recently moved to the country outside of Orange City, and starting Lindsay’s Flower Patch has provided a unique way to share her love of nature with Orange City residents and visitors alike. Lindsay is a graduate of the Floret Flower’s Workshop, and she also holds a degree in elementary and middle school education.
All of the annual flowers found at the patch were started from seed, and Lindsay uses natural and organic growing methods on the farm.
Visitors are encouraged to spend time amongst fresh flowers and create their own unique bouquets while visiting the farm.
