Woudstra’s Meat Market 2nd annual Smoke Off event are thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of this year’s event, which raised a remarkable $5,128.22 for the local Fire Department. The event took place on Saturday, Sept 9, downtown Orange City, and it would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community.
The Smoke Off event grew to 17 competitors this year and brought together residents and BBQ enthusiasts for a day of delicious food, camaraderie, and giving back. This year’s event saw a tremendous turnout, with people from all walks of life enjoying the day’s events.
A check for $5,128.22 was presented to the Fire Department. This significant contribution will aid in their mission to keep our community safe and provide essential services.
“The success of this year’s Smoke Off event is a testament to the strength and generosity of our community,” said Martina Hoogland, one of the event’s organizers. “We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to support us and make this event a resounding success.”
The event has experienced substantial growth over the years, and the organizers are already eagerly looking forward to next year’s Smoke Off. Mark your calendars for September 7, 2024, for another unforgettable day of BBQ delights, football, family fun, and community engagement.
The organizers would also like to express their gratitude to the S.I.N BBQ association and the Orange City Chamber of Commerce for their invaluable contributions in making this event truly remarkable.
