2018 Marks Active Construction Season in Orange City

Nearly $12 million was invested in construction projects in 2018 in Orange City, marking one of the most active construction seasons in community history.

Orange City leaders have been aggressive in providing housing options for potential and new residents in our community, and 2018 shows their intentions are having impressive results. Residential construction projects included a total of 70 housing units started in 2018 compared to 24 in 2017. Those housing units included 16 single family homes (12 in 2018) and 54 multi-family units (12 in 2017). Residential construction totaled $8,983,617.07 in new investment compared to $5,146,980 in 2017.

Commercial/industrial building projects also increased in 2018 over the prior year. In 2018, there was $2,070,000 invested in commercial/industrial construction compared to $1,188,547 in 2017.

City leaders look forward to building on current momentum with continued growth planned for 2019.
