In 2025, the Orange City Public Library continued to serve as a cornerstone of learning, connection, and community life. With more than 131,000 physical items and 27,000 digital titles checked out throughout the year, the library remains a trusted and well-used resource for readers of all ages. Its impact extends beyond books, adding an estimated $3.1 million in value to the Orange City community.
The library’s most popular titles reflected a wide range of interests, from bestselling fiction like The Frozen River and The Women to youth favorites including Dog Man: The Scarlet Shredder and You Can Be a Doctor. Alongside reading materials, the library also served as a hub for technology access, learning, and engagement, hosting 280 programs throughout the year.
One highlight was the Summer Reading Program, which welcomed 701 participants, encouraging a love of reading and lifelong learning. Many programs were offered in partnership with local organizations, creating richer, more connected experiences for the community. Looking ahead, the library is excited to bring a Book Bike to Orange City in 2026, expanding access to books and library services in new and creative ways.
This year also marked an important milestone as the library developed a new mission and vision statement, along with core values and goals to guide its work going forward. Through thoughtful planning, meaningful partnerships, and a commitment to serving the community, the Orange City Public Library continues to make a lasting impact.
