Northwestern College will host a theatre camp June 20–23 for high school students interested in a variety of roles in theatre. Led by Northwestern theatre professors and students, the camp is open to students in grades 9 through 12. A fee of $250 per person covers room and board, as well as access to campus facilities.
Camp participants will begin each day with warm-up games, followed by workshops on theatre skills such as acting, stage movement and costume design. The afternoon will provide time for improvisation and scene work. The days will close with evening activities and community time in the residence halls. All meals will be served in Northwestern’s cafeteria.
“Theatre camp offers a fantastic opportunity for area high school students to learn more about theatre from Northwestern faculty and staff,” says Dr. Robert Hubbard, theatre department chair. “We’ve also found over the years of running the camp that the friendships made during the week continue through the years.”
