Northwestern College to host Jordan Feliz concert Nov. 9

Jordan Feliz, a popular Christian recording artist, will bring his “Everything Good Tour” to Northwestern College on Saturday, Nov. 9. The concert, opening with recording artist Joseph O’Brien, will begin at 7 p.m. in Christ Chapel.

General admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased at echoconcerts.com. Tickets for college students are $15, and a block of $15 (cash only) tickets will be available for Northwestern students in the Ramaker Center student life office. Concert-goers can purchase early-entry tickets for $30. A $65 deluxe ticket includes first entry into the chapel and a pre-concert meet-and-greet with Jordan.

Since beginning his solo career in California in 2015, Feliz has released four albums featuring a soulful pop style. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, the artist is known for such hits as “The River,” “Glorify,” “Witness,” “The King Is Alive,” “Jesus Is Coming Back” and “Beloved.” His current single, “Praise God for That,” is part of the concert-featured “Everything Good” album to be released on Oct. 4.

This fall’s tour seeks to share with Christians songs for walking with God through anxiety. “I just really wanted to write something that feels genuine to what God has shown me over the last couple years,” he says about his own struggles. Jordan describes the “Everything Good” album as a collection of truths put into songs to help fellow believers navigate their way through worry, trusting that God is ultimately sovereign. Winner of the 2016 GMA Dove Award for New Artist of the Year, Feliz has received five Dove Award nominations throughout his career. Joseph O’Brien

The campus concert will open with Joseph O’Brien, who not long ago was a college student himself. O’Brien studied commercial music: recording, engineering and producing at Liberty University, which is also the alma mater of his record label’s founder, TobyMac (Gotee Records). Commencing his career with Gotee in 2021, O’Brien released his online streaming hit “Give Up On Love.” Last year he released his first radio single, “Down in My Heart (Joy),” a modern rendition of the children’s song, “I’ve Got Joy, Joy, Joy.”

Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, O’Brien’s first performance in the spotlight was in 2018, as a quarterfinalist on “America’s Got Talent,” where he displayed a playfulness and originality that continues in his music videos created by his younger brother, Timmy. Joseph’s father, Michael O’Brien (former lead singer for the Christian band NewSong), shares music industry advice with his son. Having a musical mother too, Joseph O’Brien says music has been in his blood since day one. “It’s one of those unexplainable drives that God puts in you.”
