Orange City showcased its Dutch hospitality by welcoming riders and visitors as RAGBRAI LII kicked off.
We asked the members of the executive team to share their response to a wonderful and successful event!
“RAGBRAI was a great opportunity for Orange City to showcase our vibrant community and the amazing people who live here! We didn’t have to turn away any riders seeking housing. In fact, we had more hosts than we needed! I’m sure that’s rare for a town our size hosting such a large event where so many want to stay either in someone’s yard or inside their home.
The first comment I heard was “your town is so clean,” and while it’s always clean, it took a lot more help and planning to keep it clean with 25,000 visitors in town. The city works hard every day to ensure this is the case. They planned for this event, ensuring the necessary help was in place to maintain the required level of cleanliness both during and after the event. We are so grateful for the many volunteers whose help was vital in ensuring a successful event. We couldn’t have done it without the support from local businesses, the city, schools, OCAHS, and Northwestern College.” – Orange City RAGBRAI executive team
