The Northwestern College A cappella Choir will perform its touring concert Friday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The choir’s program, titled “Amazing Grace,” features sacred settings such as Morten Lauridsen’s “O Magnum Mysterium” and Michael Barrett’s “Indodana” and “Absalom, My Son.” Other highlights include Erik Jones’ lively and humorous “I’ll Tell My Ma” and Sarah Hopkins’ overtone-rich work “Past Life Melodies.” The choir will also perform the Taiwanese piece “The Apple of Daddy’s Eye” for choir, piano and alto saxophone. Together, the program traces a musical journey from celebration and lament to hope, grace and praise.
“This concert reflects the many ways grace meets us—in moments of joy, sorrow, longing and hope,” says Dr. Thomas Holm, professor of music and director of the A cappella Choir. “Each piece offers a different musical and emotional perspective, inviting listeners into a rich and meaningful experience.”
The 46-member ensemble will tour Feb. 28–March 9, performing at schools and churches in Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota. For more information, visit nwciowa.edu/2026-choir-tour.
