ORANGE CITY – Don’t miss next week’s Onstage Orange City!
Wednesday, June 13 is the date, 7:00 pm is the time, Orange City’s Windmill Park is the place. The group? Six Appeal, the 2012 National Harmony Sweepstakes Champions.
The six-member a cappella group – with a cheeky name – competed in May in San Rafael, CA with ensembles from seven regions of the U.S., from New York to Chicago to the Pacific Northwest.
Six Appeal not only took first place, but also the awards of “audience favorite” and “best original song” for their piece, On Your Love.
The sweepstakes features quality vocals and high levels of artistry, but also originality and creativity, pushing to keep a cappella music fresh, innovative and highly entertaining. That’s Six Appeal.
The group began a few years ago as a collegiate hobby at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Now from Minneapolis, they’re Jordan Roll, Michael Brookens, Trey Jones, Nathan Hickey, Reuben Hushagen and Andrew Berkowitz, and they sing everything from classic oldies to current chart toppers to catchy original tunes.
Come to be surprised and captivated… and to laugh!
It’s another in the Orange City Arts Council’s series, Onstage Orange City. After the first ’12 show, someone told the Arts Council’s Janine Calsbeek; “Fabulous show! I don’t know how you pull in people like that!” She’s bound to hear more such comments after Six Appeal’s performance, Calsbeek said.
