Northwestern College has recorded the fourth-best enrollment in school history, with 1,307 students enrolled this fall, up 57 from last year. It’s the first time enrollment has been above 1,300 since 2007.
The total includes a record number of graduate students. The college’s online Master of Education programs, only in their fourth year, have an enrollment of 275. “Our graduate school staff and the education department have developed high-quality programs that are in demand,” says Bloemendaal. “Our graduate students are encouraging their colleagues to enroll because they’ve found that our programs enhance their skills in the classroom, are taught by experienced professors who provide plenty of personal attention, offer a lot of flexibility and are affordable.”
The average ACT composite score of Northwestern’s freshman class is 24.3, well above the Iowa average of 21.9 and the national average of 21.0. “We’re excited to work with another class of very talented students,” says Mark Bloemendaal, vice president for enrollment and marketing. “They have a strong academic background and have given us every indication they will do well and make positive contributions to our Christian academic community.”
