Orange City Arts’ summer concert series Onstage Orange City opens on June 5th with rising country western duo Porter Union.
Porter Union’s humble origin story is a stark contrast to their rapidly rising star. Husband and wife Cole and Kendra Porter met singing karaoke and spent years playing their way through dive bars and honky tonks before catching the ears of some of the top talent judges in the country. Recently selected by Travis Tritt as contestants on USA Network’s “REAL COUNTRY,” Porter Union made their television debut in 2018 and quickly captured the hearts of their audience—and judges—with their signature heartfelt style.
Says the couple, “You won’t find overproduced, cliche filled songs here.” Their honest approach to songwriting combines raw emotional themes with a traditional country sound to bring the listener into the story. “We’re just two old souls who’ve traveled the country, playing everywhere from dive bars and honky tonks to festivals and theaters.”
And now cable television.
Porter Union will be performing in Orange City at 7 pm on June 5th in downtown Windmill Park. Admission is free and audiences are able to purchase lawn chairs at the event or bring their own. Porter Union’s appearance is co-sponsored by American State Bank.
