The City of Orange City is pleased to announce that Matt Van Schouwen has been selected as the next City Administrator. Van Schouwen currently serves as Orange City’s Director of Public Works, a role he has held since March of 2019. He will officially begin his new position in November.
Mayor Deb De Haan shared her enthusiasm for the appointment, saying,
“We are thrilled to have Matt Van Schouwen step into the role of City Administrator. Matt is a person of integrity who leads with care, respect, and a deep commitment to our community. His proven leadership and dedication to both our employees and residents make him an outstanding choice to guide Orange City into the future.”
As Director of Public Works, Van Schouwen has overseen numerous community projects, infrastructure improvements, and public service initiatives. His experience and relationships within the community will serve him well as he transitions into the city’s top administrative role.
Reflecting on his new position, Van Schouwen said,
“I’m honored by the opportunity to continue serving our great community. Orange City is a unique place with strong leadership, dedicated staff, and residents who genuinely care about one another. I look forward to working with the City Council, staff, and citizens to continue building on the positive momentum and vision that make Orange City a vibrant place to live, work, and thrive.”
