The Orange City Community Band will perform on Wednesday June 19, Wednesday July 10 and Wednesday July 24 in Windmill Park downtown Orange City. The performances are part of Onstage Orange City, Orange City Arts’ free summer concert series. All performances begin at 7:00 p.m.
A perennial favorite, local musicians under the direction of Dan Mangold play everything from big band hits to movie and showtunes to patriotic melodies with a personal touch.
About 30 members strong, the Community Band rehearses and plays together throughout the summer. Led by MOC-Floyd Valley High School Band Director Dan Mangold, the band is comprised of a wide range of ages and ability levels and is built on the philosophy that music can continue to be a regular part of life for all of us. Band members are paid for rehearsals and performances and are an important part of the Onstage Orange City season each year.
Prior to the free performances, the Orange City Farmers Market will be at Stadscentrum, across from Windmill Park, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
