Gleeful by Martha Rhoades

Last year’s Iowa Watercolor Society juried exhibition featured Sojourners by Judy Thompson of Orange City, first place winner.

The Iowa Watercolor Society has been active for 35 years, and annually sponsors a juried exhibition. Don Andrews of Fairhope AL and three-time winner of awards from the American Watercolor Society, juried the 2011-12 show. He is the author of several books on watercolor and conducts painting workshops across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe and Africa.

Andrews looks for visually exciting pieces with originality of concept and design organization, he said.
