Monday, Aug. 16, Marie Hofmeyer, owner of Holland Hosue, announced the store’s expansion. She purchased the building directly north of Holland House from the Orange City Development Corporation, and she has big plans for the location.
The building needed to be demolished but the history will be honored in the new space.
The new space will house the clothing collection as well as two condos on the top floor. The front condo will face downtown and be a two-bedroom/two-bath. The second condo will face the back. These will be air bnb spots to begin with. Hofmeyer also plans to add an outdoor patio area and a snack shack.
Teardown will happen this year and if all goes to plan, the building will be open fall of 2022.
