Northwestern and Dordt student are to be exhibited
A public reception is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the gallery, which is located in the Korver Visual Arts Center.
Three Northwestern College students will choose pieces for the show from among Dordt’s artwork submissions; three Dordt students will choose pieces from among the entries by Northwestern students. Northwestern’s student jurors are junior Ali Almail, from Bahrain; senior Joy McCaffrey, from Forsyth, Montana; and freshman Faith Tyrrell, from Marshalltown, Iowa. The jurors from each school will speak about their selections during the Nov. 20 reception.
The exhibit provides students with the opportunity to interact with peers from another institution and to become involved in the curatorial process. Artwork can be any medium: ceramics, computer art, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking or sculpture. The only requirement is that it must have been made while the student was attending Northwestern or Dordt.
The Korver Visual Arts Center is located on Highway 10 at 214 8th Street SW in Orange City. Gallery hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
