Things are moving along at the old elementary school campus! Asbestos removal is complete and was a shared cost between the City and the MOC-FV school district.
Demolition is underway, and Vander Pol Excavating hopes to be complete by April 1st! The plan is to remove the building, street parking adjacent to the school property, and a few trees.
The City is now the owner of the school property, and the City Council will be considering proposals for redevelopment. The Community Development Plan developed in 2021 has identified the site for medium-density housing and green space. No final plan has been approved yet, but we hope the redevelopment begins in late 2024-early 2025.
The City Council is also considering a street improvement plan for the area in 2024.
