Sioux County unemployment rate remains low, area businesses have job openings available
Sioux County’s unemployment rate in September was 1.8%, below the Iowa unemployment rate of 4.3% for the same time period. The Sioux County unemployment rate for September was also well below the national unemployment rate of 7.9%.
Throughout the entire northwest Iowa region, the unemployment rate remains low. For September, Lyon County reported an unemployment rate of 1.9%, Osceola County 2.1%, O’Brien County 2.8%, Plymouth County 2.8%, and Cherokee County 2.8%.
