Sioux County’s unemployment rate in October was 1.3%, improving from September’s number which was 1.8%. The Sioux County unemployment rate for October was also well below the national unemployment rate of 6.9%.
Throughout the entire northwest Iowa region, the unemployment rate remains low. For October, Osceola County recorded 1.6%, Lyon County 1.3%, O’Brien County 1.9%, Plymouth County 2.0% and Cherokee County 2.0%.
