On October 9th, the new state-of-the-art da Vinci 5 surgical robotic system was installed at the Orange City Area Health System surgery center.
The Health System shared that bringing the da Vinci 5 surgical robot to life was a collaboration across many departments.
- Facilities & Engineering: Transforming the OR to meet the robot’s spatial, electrical, and environmental needs. Every outlet, mount, and cable matters.
- IT: Integrating cutting-edge software, networking, and hardware systems to ensure seamless communication between components.
- Surgical & Nursing Teams: Planning workflows, training on robotic procedures, and ensuring patient-centered care remains at the heart of every step.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Coordinating the delivery, unpacking, and precise installation of each robotic arm, console, and vision system.
- Education & Training: Preparing our clinicians and support staff with hands-on simulations and certification programs to master the technology.
