Northwestern Symphonic Band presents concert centered on hope in Christ

The Northwestern College Symphonic Band will present a unique Valentine’s Day concert titled “Eat Your Heart Out, Godzilla!” on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Northwestern online programs receive high rankings

Northwestern College tied for 24th in the online bachelor’s degree program category in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 rankings, released on Jan. 27. This is the highest score among institutions in Iowa and members of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).

Northwestern College recognized as best-in-class employer

Northwestern College has been named a best-in-class employer by Gallagher, the college’s benefits consultant, as part of its 2025 U.S. Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey. The designation recognizes organizations that demonstrate excellence in benefits strategy, employee well-being and cost management, based on an in-depth benchmarking analysis of employers nationwide.

Northwestern’s class of 2025 achieves 100 percent placement rate

Northwestern College’s 2025 bachelor’s degree graduates achieved a 100% placement rate within six months of graduation. A survey of class members revealed that 83.2% are employed, 16.4% are in grad school, and 0.4% are intentionally engaged in service opportunities.

Northwestern College’s Te Paske Gallery features exhibit by Iowa artists

Northwestern College will present “Grounded,” a joint art exhibition featuring ceramicist Danielle Whigham and painter Emily McQueen. The show will be on display in Te Paske Gallery Jan. 13 through Feb. 26, with a public reception scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 6:30 p.m.

Northwestern play selected for regional festival

The Northwestern College theatre department’s production of “An Enemy of the People” has been selected for presentation at the Region Five American College Theater Festival (ACTF) in Rochester, Minnesota, Jan. 18–24.

Northwestern College to present Kang, Dakota String Quartet

Dr. Juyeon Kang, professor of music at Northwestern College, will present a concert titled “Dr. Kang and Friends” on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The performance will feature Kang alongside the Dakota String Quartet and pianist Janelle Phinney. The concert is free and open to the public.

Northwestern College named Best Christian Workplace for third year

For the third year in a row, Northwestern College has been certified as a Best Christian Workplace. The latest recognition is based on data from the 2025 Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI) survey, which measures the health of workplace culture in Christian organizations. The college scored an all-time high of 4.19 on a five-point scale, placing in the 91st percentile for the higher education category.

Northwestern College to present Christmas Vespers

The Northwestern College music department will present its annual Christmas Vespers concerts on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The events are free and open to the public.
