Northwestern College nursing department awarded $130,000 grant

The Carver Charitable Trust is awarding Northwestern College $130,000 to purchase high-tech equipment that will enhance the training of future nurses.

Northwestern College students to serve during spring break

Northwestern College will send 12 teams of students on service trips to six states, Spain, England and Mexico during spring break. More than 160 participants will travel for this year’s Spring Service Partnerships, scheduled for March 1–10.

Northwestern student wins theatre award for design and technology

For the second consecutive year, Northwestern College senior Jack MacGregor, a theatre major from Denison, Iowa, achieved a first-place finish at the Region Five Kennedy Center College American Theater Festival, held this year in Des Moines Jan. 19–25.

Northwestern College to present “The Little Prince” on stage

Northwestern College’s theatre department will present “The Little Prince” Feb. 21, 22, 26 and 27 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center’s England Proscenium Theatre. The show will begin at 7:30 each of those evenings; there will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Eight NWC students chosen for Iowa Collegiate Honor Band

Eight members of the Northwestern College Symphonic Band have been chosen to participate in the 2024–25 Iowa Collegiate Honor Band. The honor band, composed of the best college woodwind, brass and percussion students from throughout the state, will gather at Pella, Iowa, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.

Former NCAA coach to speak at NWC about mental health

Mark Potter, former head men’s basketball coach at Newman University, will speak at Northwestern College Feb. 10–12 about mental health issues.

Northwestern College to hold annual Day of Giving on Feb. 6

Northwestern College will hold its annual Day of Giving on Thursday, Feb. 6. Titled AllNDay, the event is designed to encourage alumni and friends of the college to be “all in” with their support for Northwestern.

NWC sets spring enrollment record for sixth straight year

For the sixth year in a row, Northwestern College has set a spring enrollment record. This year’s number is 1,661, up from 1,603 last spring.

Northwestern College online programs receive high rankings

Northwestern College tied for 21st in the online bachelor’s degree program category and 77th in the online master’s degree in education program category in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 rankings.
