Northwestern history professor selected for endowed professorship

This summer, 15 Northwestern College professors will conduct research and pursue further study with funding from the Northwestern College Scholarship Grants program. Ranging from $2,800 to $5,300, the awards are designed to encourage scholarly work for publication and distribution beyond Northwestern’s campus.
Northwestern College is awarding its Endowed Research Fellowship for 2026 to Dr. Jiying (Jenny) Song, associate professor of business. She was chosen for the $10,000 grant by the Faculty Development Committee after an external review process.
Dr. Cambria Kaltwasser, Northwestern College’s Marvin and Jerene DeWitt Endowed Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies, has been named the 2026 recipient of the college’s Faculty Excellence in Faith and Learning Award. She was recognized during commencement exercises on May 9.
Kylie Foss, a biology-health professions major from Brandon, South Dakota, received Faculty Honors during Northwestern College’s commencement exercises on May 9.
Dr. Cody Rozeveld, assistant professor of biology at Northwestern College, has been named the 2026 recipient of the Northwestern Teaching Excellence Award. He was honored during the college’s commencement ceremony on May 9.
Northwestern College will host two summer art camps in June, offering hands-on creative experiences for students ages 6 through 12.
Northwestern College students will travel to Greece and England this summer as part of two study abroad programs offered by the college’s global education office.
Several Northwestern College students will spend part of their summer serving around the world through the college’s Summer of Service (SOS) program. This year, 14 students will participate in short-term mission experiences lasting two to 12 weeks in Alaska, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, England, Italy, Tanzania and Zambia.
Isaac Clausen, audiovisual technician, and Dr. Thomas Holm, department chair and professor of music, are the recipients of Northwestern College’s 2026 Inspirational Service Awards. Clausen was chosen as the staff recipient, while Holm received the faculty award during the college’s Celebration Banquet on May 4.
